And the Winners are…

I have picked the winners of the vintage jewelry giveaway!
First, I would love to thank everyone who entered the giveaway and thanks to all those who said so many nice things. This was a really wonderful experience, and I plan on having lots more giveaways in the future (so don’t worry if you didn’t win).
So, I was going to do one of those fancy electronic winner selectors, but I couldn’t find one I liked or that I really understood.

So I did it the old fashion way; I wrote down all the names and put em in a hat.

Then I tossed em.

ALOT.

This was so much fun.
Now for the winners…

Kristin (kristinlasvegas.tumblr.com) is the winner of the orange and brown earrings!

Lily (loudlily.tumblr.com) is the winner of the mother of pearl ring!

Danielle V (loveandlookpretty.blogspot.com) is the winner of the adorable snail brooch!
Congratulations to my beautiful winners! I will attempt to contact you asap to get your addresses to send these off. But if you read this people I contact you, you can always email me at fabricstripsrubylips@gmail.com
Thanks again to all who entered, and I will definitely be putting together another giveaway in the near future.
Hope y’all have a happy Sunday!
much love.
I Love Mail Attention
Hello Friends! If you are a Canadian you know that things have been a little wonky with the postal service lately, you see there has been strikes and lock outs and all that union jazz. Basically no mail for a long time. But before all this happened I went a little online shopping crazy. And finally after what seems like half a year of waiting, my precious purchases have arrived. So, I thought I would share my style purchases and recommend these amazing online sellers. So, here we have Cuff, Clutch and Coach…

I bought this amazing ear cuff with a hamsa hand charm from Limette. This shop is run by the lovely Kirsten Gail of Studs and Pearls, and every piece is beautiful and handcrafted. I love how unique this piece is, and with a hamsa hand on it real means a lot to me.

I Love Clutches. I mean, I really love them. So, when I saw this bright orange clutch with pink zipper I just had to have it. I purchased it from Curly in the Citywhich is an Etsy shop run by Taylor. This clutch is handmade and really well constructed. I can’t wait to take it out for a spin on a date night.

Lastly, I bought this amazing vintage Coach bookbag. It is real leather and in perfect condition. This was another Etsy purchase from seller Myriad of Mischief. This shop is full of many sweet vintage pieces and the seller is really fantastic. I have never had such a caring seller, with such amazing taste.
I had great experiences with all these sellers, and I really love all these items. I can’t wait to style them up and take ‘em out for a spin.
Much Love.
P.S. My Giveaway ends on Friday, so everyone who hasn’t entered time is running out!
Oh, so…yellow?
Hello Lovelies! This is going to be quite short today as the Hubster and I have two whole days off together which never ever happens, so we are going to take full advantage of it. But I’m posting today because I wanted to take part in this month’s everybody everywear (check out the link on the bottom for full details).

I’m wearing my thrifted Prince of Theives dress, Payless heels, department store sunglasses and my mother’s yellow scarf.

I was kind of surprised when I went to participate in EBEW and found nothing yellow in my closest. It’s kind of sad eh? Yellow is such a wonderful color, it is so happy and versatile. The only yellow I own is this satin yellow scarf. This scarf belonged to my beautiful mother who gave it to me a couple of years ago. I have always been in love with it, the pale yellow is so delicate and beautiful.

I think the yellow scarf really brightened up this outfit, took it from a night dress to a whole day dress.

Well, I’m on my way out with my new DIY’d clutch and my husbter. I hope y’all have a great day.
much love.
Participate in next month’s EBEW!
P.S. Don’t forget to enter my GIVEAWAY, there are only a few days left!
Thrift Store Score
Hello friends old and NEW! Sunday I typically post my weekly flea market finds, but this Sunday the Hubster and I just stayed home. We had a really lovely morning of coffee and magazines and talking. Sometimes it’s nice to just hide out and pretend we are on a desert island. But I digress…However, this week I did take a little trip to Lovely Betty which is an amazing vintage/thrift boutique across the river. It use to be located in an old practically abandoned mall but it recently moved to an old house, and it has really transformed. It had everything from designer bags to a $1 bin.

When I finally left after an hour of shopping I came away with a red blazer, a hounds-tooth swing coat, a wool cardigan, a front zipper dresses and my first maxi skirt. There were just so many pieces there I wanted, I really need to go back…well, after a few weeks of saving maybe. I really need to start shopping my closet and save some money.

This maxi skirt was my favorite find, it is so whimsical. But I have never worn a maxi skirt before so I am not sure how well I pull it off or how to style it. Any thoughts? I think it will take a few days of trying it on and putting it back in my closet before I actually wear it out.
I am so glad I went to investigate this store it was absolutely amazing. I encourage you to set out on a little summer adventure to check out a thrift or vintage store you have never been to, you never know what you might find.
much love.
P.S. Don’t forget to enter my GIVEAWAY! It ends on Friday.
Sail Away With Me Honey
Hello Babes! It’s hot, right? I mean it is here in Eastern Canada anyway. I am melting here, the thought of going outside and walking to work is excruciating. However, I did get out for a little bit with the Hubster to get some outfit shots down by the river.

Now, I know we have seen this outfit before and it isn’t much of a remix. I am wearing leggings instead of tights and black flats instead of heels. However, I really wanted to show off this straw boater hat I got. I am in love with it. It makes me feel like I am a lady of the world, setting off on a fabulous adventure.

Don’t you love this lobster ring I got at Aldo? It is so weird and whimsical.

So, I got this boater hat at a chain store going out of business. The dress is from Suzy Sheir and the flats are from Payless.

I hope you guys are enjoying some beautiful weather, and like the heat more than I do.
Don’t forget to enter my giveaway!
much love.
Sunday Flea Market Finds
Hello Dahlings! How has everyone been? Sorry for my absence the last couple of days, but it was Canada Day weekend and, the sun was shinning and the drinks were flowing. I hope all my Canadian readers and fellow Canadian bloggers enjoyed themselves this weekend!
This Sunday was pretty fantastic. Before we headed off to the flea market, the hubster and I plus two of my besties enjoyed a beautiful brunch in the morning sun. There is nothing I love more than brunch with friends on a patio in the summer. Then we all strolled to the flea market and we all got some great stuff.

This week my amazing finds were a little lion brooch, a Tucan brooch, a beaded coin purse, an art deco ring, an 80’s vintage clutch and a horse brooch/scarf holder.

I am in love with this little Tucan, he’s so colorful and sweet. I have images in my head of all the amazing summer dresses he is going to adorn. Although, I think have officially gone over the edge, I have way too many brooches. So many I am thinking I should start sharing, so check back on Monday for my first… GIVEAWAY!
much love.
Sunday Flea Market Finds
Hello dahlings. As usual I went to the flea market with the hubster and my mother-in-law, it was pretty good week of finds even though I didn’t have much money in my pockets.

This week I got lots of earrings which is something I normally don’t do. I got this costume jewelry ruby earrings, some cool cracked egg earrings, geometric earrings and whale tale earrings. I got a cocktail ring from the 60’s, two headed panther bracelet, and a beetle brooch. Also, I got a pin made of charms, it is really cool as a whole but I think I will dismantle it into other pieces.

My hubster thinks this ring looks like a sea of purple eyes, which is alright by me.

I am in love with this panther head bracelet, even though I never wear bracelets. I guess if I keep buying them I am going to have to start.
Each week I keep going to the flea market and buying amazing jewelry, then I bring it home and realize I have no where to put it because I have been buying so much of it. I think I may have a shiny hoarders problem. Where I was going with this is that I was thinking of doing a giveaway of some vintage jewelry, do you guys think you’d be into that? I know lots of people giveaway new stuff, but let me know if you think a vintage jewelry giveaway is a good idea.
I hope everyone had a relaxing Sunday.
much love.
