My Summer Style Guide- How to Dress for a Campfire

I’m a down home country girl and living in the country means lots of summer campfires. I love campfires; the food, the friends, the drinks and cozy environment. And even those these events take place mostly in the dark it’s hard to decide what to wear. My suggestion would firstly be to wear your hair back so you don’t accidentally lose your locks. Also, bring a sweater in case it gets chilly and rugged shoes because you never know the terrain you might be walking on.

Dress- Old Navy (similar-ish)
Shoes- Joe Fresh (similar)
Bag- Thrifted
Vest- Old Navy (similar)

Are you guys having some campfire fun this year? What is your favorite campfire food, hot dogs or s’mores? I am a s’mores gal myself, as long as it’s good dark chocolate.

Delicious!

much love.

Double Double Toil and Trouble

So this outfit is hardly blog worthy, but I guess you’ve got to take the good with the mediocre. I had to put in some overtime after my usual nine to five gig, which is fine but didn’t leave me time today to put together an awesome outfit. Plus it was raining off and on all day. However, I do think this flashy bag saved my outfit from being totally drab. I love the Navajo inspired neon print.

Trench- Joe Fresh (similar)
Dress- Suzy Shier
Necklace- DIY
Bag- Aldo
Flats- Jules & James (similar)
Travel Mug- Contingo

Oh and there comes the rain.

Do you guys ever lag in the style department when you get busy with work? How do you find time to keep your outfits creative?

much love.

The Trench

This is a true smile of pure happiness. The snow is gone! I can’t believe it. The sun came out the last two days and the snow melted so fast. I wore my flats outside today and it felt so good to be able to switch it up in the footwear department.

I have to say that even though most of the snow is gone it’s still quite chilly. So thankfully I have my trusty classic trench. It is the perfect transition piece, it’s way lighter than a winter coat but it’s still long enough to keep you covered and warm.
Aren’t these pups the cutest?!

Purse- Thrifted

Who else is loving the neon and neutrals trend? I am. It brings me back to when I was a little girl in the 80’s. It’s so bright and fun.

I hope everyone is having a super week.

much love.

Wishful Dressing

This is my I-Wish-It-Was-Spring outfit. Even though I love where I am living right now, like I love it. This place is so magical. However, the last couple of days I have been longing for warmer days. So, it has been a little bit warmer (-8 degrees) the last couple of days so I have been wishful dressing like it was a lot warmer. I should probably cut it out before I get sick…

Dress H&M, Boots Gifted, Leather Jacket Thrifted, Bag Aldo, Sunglasses Old Navy, Belt Vintage, Infinity Scarf Joe Fresh (for $2!!)

Before I go I must gush about how much I love this scarf. Seriously, it’s so big and plushy, it keeps me so warm and makes an excellent hood too.

And I should mention how much fun Minigo and I had outside in the snow.

Hope y’all had an excellent day.

much love.

Meant To Be

Have you ever felt like a piece of clothing was made for you? Like a designer somewhere was imagining your body when they were making an item? That’s how I feel about this coat. A neighbor of mine had this old coat laying around and thought I could use the fabric for my shop. I went to take the lining out of the coat to make a hat with it, but instead I tried it on. I couldn’t believe it, it fits like a dream. I have never worn a coat that actually slimmed me down but this one does (if I do say so myself). Which is really nice considering I haven’t shed my holiday pounds yet…or the pounds I had intended to shed before that…

Dress Joe Fresh, Coat Gifted, Gloves Ralph Lauren, Boot Gifted, Scarf Le Chateau, Bag Aldo

We’re interrupting this outfit post to bring you a photo of a cute  stray doggy we call Rocky

i hope everyone had a happy weekend.

much love.

Texture Love

Hello Beauties! I am really happy to be getting back into the swing of blogging, I had kinda forgotten how much fun it is to plan outfits with care and think about details. I am loving my outfit today, although I am a little uncomfortable with bare arms. I think if I had left my house I would have had to put on a sweater. Plus, it is chilly enough to need a sweater. But thankfully today I am just hanging out at home waiting for the internet and cable guy, although it’s been like 8 hours and he still isn’t here which is a bit frustrating. But moving on…Since I can’t leave the house I had to take the photos in my house and sadly it didn’t really work out. So I apologize for the lack of full view photos.

The shoes are Old Navy, the skirt and camisole are Joe Fresh, and the lace top is Majorie.

I made this cuff yesterday it’s not half bad if I do say so myself. This is my favorite color ever, and I love to slip it into any outfit I can.

I got this blue and brown scarf from my BFF as a birthday gift <3 I love how much it stands out from underneath my dark hair.

I love the style of these suede wedges, and they are super easy to walk in. However, they are horrible uncomfortable.

I think what I love so much about this outfit is all the different textures together: suede boots, cotton scarf, lace top, leather cuff, and canvas skirt. I have always been a cotton and cotton kinda girl, but this year I am devoting myself to adding more texture to each outfit (and to losing some pounds).

Sorry this is a little wordy, I guess I must be getting lonely waiting for the cable guy.

much love.

The Outsiders

Hello Dear Friends! I am happy to be finally doing a real outfit post. It feels like it has been forever since I have gone out and really documented an outfit. I am going to try to document as many outfits outside as possible until the snow comes in about a month.

The jersey dress is Old Navy, blazer is thrifted, belt is Le chateau and the sunglasses are Old Navy.

I felt very urban chic in this outfit, and I felt very out of place wearing it. This town is a vortex for good style sense. Everyone here, even people who just moved here  are all dressed in jeans and hoodies. I have never seen anything like it, from toddlers to the elderly they are all wearing the same thing. I mean, I don’t care, where what you like, but it’s hard to believe that everyone in this town likes to wear the same thing. But I do care that everyone in this town stares, points and whispers about me. It is a little frustrating. But I am going to keep wearing what I feel best in.

I am not the only one who stands out here, my Hubster also sticks out like a sore thumb. He was wearing a tie the other day and a kid came up to him pointed to the tie and asked “What’s that?”. Very strange and very funny and very cute.

Here he is looking like the perfect outsider in a Joe baseball shirt, For Him U.K. leather jacket, Old navy jeans and sunglasses.

Do you guys ever feel pressure to dress down in a jeans and t-shirt world? How did you deal with it?

much love.
