Chocolate Truffle Recipe!

Delicious Decadent Chocolate Ganache Truffles

I just made these for my Hubster and he said they were better than Lindt Truffles (which just happen to be his favorite). So, I thought I would share this simple recipe so you can make some for the people you love and get lots of compliments in return (FYI you count as someone you love and compliments from yourself are great!)

Ingredients

1 ounce Bittersweet or Semi-Sweet Chocolate
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 bag of milk chocolate or dark chocolate chips

Take a serrated knife and chop up the chocolate into small or fine pieces. Then bring the heavy cream to a boil.

Pour the heavy cream over the chocolate and make sure most of the chocolate is covered. Let sit for 5 minutes.

Take a whisk and mix the chocolate and cream together. Take your time and do it slowly so it keeps a creamy texture.

You’ll know when you’re done mixing when it has a glossy texture. Put it in the fridge for 4 hours or overnight.

Okay, this is the tricky step. Take a scoop or spoon, then scoop out little mounds onto wax paper on a tray. Now mine don’t look very pretty, sadly I am no Martha Stewart. But they still taste delicious regardless of my odd shaped mounds. Ideally they would be perfectly round. Then put in the fridge again for a little while longer, like 2 hours.

This is the very messy part.
Melt chocolate either in the microwave or in a double boiler. Coat your hands in cocoa powder. Then pour a little chocolate in your hand.

Roll your mounds in the chocolate. Make sure they are fully coated, then place them in mini muffin cups and refrigerate for another couple of hours.

You will have delicious little treats, that are too good to stop eating.

Enjoy!

much love.

So, the holiday season is upon us, therefor it is time to decorate! And no decorations are better than the ones you make yourself. I thought I would share my favorite decoration DIY of the season. Sadly, I did not think of this DIY but I did find it on the website for the Queen of the season; none other than Martha Stewart. These adorable little trees are made from old magazines, that are carefully folded and then decorated with your choice of glitter, paint or whatever you desire. They make perfect backdrops for your nick knacks, and look elegant on top of a book shelf. Plus if you cover them in glitter and turn on the holiday lights, they shimmer like new fallen snow. Check out the DIY here.
What are your fav holiday DIYs? Let me know, I would love to make some more!
