My Summer Style Guide- How to Dress for a Festival

I asked my lovely guest writers to share what they would/are wearing to a summer festival. This week I am a very lucky girl and I’m heading down to Portland Maine to see the Gentlemen of the Road festival featuring Mumford and Sons. I couldn’t be more jazzed, especially to wear this dress to the festival. I scored this baby at a charming vintage shop. To me it is perfect festival wear because it’s casual, comfortable but still really pretty with this floral print. When heading to a festival it’s important to wear hat for added sun protection. But most importantly comfortable shoes are a must, I’m wearing my moccasins because they are really comfortable and durable for unpredictable terrain.

Dress- Vintage (similar)
Hat- Le Chateau (similar)
Bag- Spring
Shoes- Locally Made

The only thing I might change about this outfit before I head out to the show is changing the satchel to a backpack.
I hope you guys get to enjoy a summer music festival or two, and if you do I want to hear all about it!
much love.
Featured Sponsor: Anjolee
When I was first approached to work with Anjolee I was a little uncertain because aside from my lovely engagement ring I prefer quirky and unusual jewelry to classic diamond pieces. But I have to say after looking at their website I think I may be a diamond convert. Their pieces are so classic but with a twist like this mixed metal diamond bracelet with a diamond hive-like pattern.
Anjolee has style imaginable on their website. From classic diamond hoops earrings to intricate pendants like above to engagements ring to red carpet style jewelry to gemstone jewelry. You could spend hours looking at the wide selection they have, dreaming of buying yourself a gift or maybe getting someone you love to buy you a gift!
The best thing about Anjolee though is that everything can be completely customized! Say you want a pair of diamond hoops you can the pick the type of metal, diamond quality and carat weight. You get complete control over the look and cost of your piece. You could spend hours looking at pieces and changing around the style, especially when you look through the gemstones and changing out the gems from garnet to topaz to emerald.
Plus this is the perfect place to find your engagement ring; personally this princess cut diamond ring is definitely my favorite (are you paying attention Hubster?). I love the setting of this ring, it’s so high so the diamond really is in the forefront.

An important part of selecting sponsors for me is knowing I am supporting a ethical business with philosophies that coincide with my own. Anjolee only uses diamond that correspond with the Kimberly Process of conflict free diamonds and has a commitment to green manufacturing process.
I definitely recommend taking a browse through the Anjolee website and play around with the customization option. Enjoy!
much love.

Inspiration
Hey y’all! Right now we are flying high on our way to mildly warm New Brunswick to visit our lovely families. We only get to see them three times a year, so it is a really special time for us.
So as I have mentioned before I have a bunch of great bloggers stopping by for the next couple of weeks to share some amazing posts. I asked them all to talk about their style inspiration. I thought I would start things off this week by talking about my own style inspiration.

My inspiration is my Mom. That’s her there on the left in the beautiful blue floral dress and I should mention that goofy guy in the middle is my fantastic Dad. Aren’t they adorable?!
My Mom has taught me alot about style. She taught me to stay classy and not give it all away for free. She taught me to stand up straight because posture is important for your health, and makes you look thinner and your clothes look better. Aside from her pearls of wisdom I learned alot by looking through her closet at the prints she had chosen and shapes she loved. And in her closet she has always had an array of lovely floral. I think that’s been the biggest influence on my outfit choices.

I can’t thank her enough for infusing my life with a love of floral prints. It has brought cheer to my wardrobe, and a vintage vibe to everything I wear.
I hope you guys have a great couple of weeks, I hope to check in every now and then to see some of these amazing guest post coming up.
bye y’all.
much love.
Long Lost Friend

The other day when I thought my luggage was lost and gone forever I was moaning because I thought I had lost this vintage cardigan. In honor of it be returned to be I thought I would throw it on. Sadly, the photos don’t do it justice; it has beautiful tiny seed bead flower embroidery and pearl buttons. I paired it with this lilac pink lace dress; the whole outfit is very light and soft which is not normally something that attracts me. But I am loving feeling like a lady in this ensemble.
…And yes I am standing on my bed which is sadly just a mattress on the floor, please just ignore it.

Cardigan Vintage, Dress Modcloth, Ring H&M, Necklace Gift

This necklace has so many baubles, but it is so light weight. Plus it makes a slight jingle when I walk, which I really love. for some odd reason.
much love.
As I mentioned in my post yesterday our luggage has been lost and sadly not yet returned. I usually try to be a positive blogger, but today I am feeling really down about the whole situation. It is tragic to think that my most favorite outfits (plus all my holiday gifts) have been lost to the black whole that is the airport. That my favorite cream vintage sweater with pearl buttons, and my thrifted blazer that fits just perfect will be gone forever. That is the only down side to loving/shopping vintage, is that when it is worn out or lost it is gone forever. They are pieces that are not easy to find and impossible to replace.
Have you beauties ever had a similar experience, lost luggage or a precious vintage piece of clothing?
